How to cook barley in a rice cooker

Using a rice cooker is one of the easiest way to make barley.

Step 1

Start by rinsing  the uncooked barley under cool water.

Water Ratio For every  1 cup of barley add 2 cups of water

Step 2

Add the water and barley to the bowl of the rice cooker.   If your rice cooker has different settings, turn it to the brown rice setting.

Step 3

Place the lid on the rice cooker and press the turn it on. When it's done, carefully remove lid and fluff rice. 

Each rice cooker is different, so cook times may vary.  But for me, 1 cup of barley takes about 50 minutes to cook.
