Step 1

Start by rinsing  the uncooked rice under cool water.

Step 2

Add rice, water, and optional ½ teaspoon salt to a medium sauce pan. Bring mixture to a boil.

Step 3

Once boiling, cover the pot with a lid and reduce the heat to a simmer.  Let simmer for 40-45 mins or until water is absorbed.
