How to Make Chickpeas in the Instant Pot

Freshly cooked chickpeas taste  SO MUCH BETTER than canned chickpeas!

They also are less expensive, saving you money!

-dried chickpeas -water -pressure cooker

Things You'll Need

Start by rinsing the dried chickpeas to remove any dust                             

Place beans in Instant Pot bowl and cover with at least 2 inches of water

You do not need to pre-soak your beans before cooking them in the Instant Pot.

Pressure cook the chickpeas on high for 40 minutes.

*Pro tip: It will take about 10 minutes for the Instant Pot to reach high pressure

After the 40 minutes, let the pressure naturally release for 15 minutes. Then manually release the rest of the pressure by holding down the button on the top of the pressure cooker.

Strain any remaining  water and your chickpeas are ready to eat!

1 cup of dried chickpeas = 3 cups of cooked chickpeas.

There are about 1.5 cups of beans in a can of chickpeas.

There are 11 grams of protein and 269 cals in 1 cup of cooked chickpeas.
