Dehydrated apple chips in the air fryer are so easy and fast. What used to take hours in the oven or dehydrator can now be done in less than 20 minutes.

Start by preheating the air fryer to 320 degrees.

If your air fryer has different settings, use the "air fry" setting.

Thoroughly wash and dry the apples

You do not need to core or peel the apples.

You can use whatever variety of apple you have on hand!   Sweet apples tend to get sweeter when dehydrated and sour apples tend to get sourer. My favorite apples to use are Honeycrisps.

Thinly slice the apples about ⅛th of an inch thick

Use a mandoline for ease and uniformity.

Place the apple slices on the air fryer trays or in the basket in a single layer.

Air fry for 5 minutes, flip the chips and fry for 5 minutes more.

Every air fryer cooks a little differently, so continue cooking in 5 minute increments until you've reached desired crispness.

Apple chips are done when they are hard, but still a little flexible.  They'll finish crisping up as they cool.
