The Bulk Starts Here
Have you ever wandered through the bulk bin aisles at your grocery store and wondered, "What the heck is Hulled Millet?" Or sat down to make your grocery list and thought, "I'm tired of all the same old recipes I always use?" Maybe you've made a decision to make healthier meals, but you still want your children to enjoy them.
If any of those examples sound like you then you have come to the right place! Our main purpose at The Incredible Bulks is to inspire people to use new and healthy ingredients in their everyday cooking. Our recipes may involve ingredients you haven't tried, but they are easy and family friendly. We have three kids, we know how it goes. We also have plenty of recipes that don't stretch your taste palette.

In 2017 we moved from our “old Kentucky home” to the Pacific Northwest. We had a great time exploring the new area, getting to know the landscape and new culture. There is a lot of moss everywhere, the sun never shines (ok, we did move here in winter), and there is a coffee shop on every block. However, one of the discoveries that has excited me the most is...the bulk section of the grocery store!
I know that sounds super lame, but as a stay at home mom who spends a significant portion of my day thinking about food, shopping for food, and preparing food, the bulk aisles at the grocery store were a very exciting discovery.
“Wait, there’s different colors of quinoa?”
“You can grind your own peanut butter!”
“What the heck are mayocoba beans?”
“Chocolate covered blueberries!”
The first few times I went to the grocery store here I spent WAY to much time slowly wandering down the aisles, looking at all the different and new food possibilities.
You see, in our family we love to try new foods and recipes. (Well, by we I mean my husband and I. The kids would be happy eating buttered noodles for the rest of their lives).
Thus the glory of the bulk section! I have access to lots of different ingredients, I can get the amount I need, and it’s always a cheaper price. My husband and I both had the same idea, lets try to make something out of every item in the bulk section. And so this blog was born.
Even if you don't have a bulk section in your local grocery store, you should be able to easily find these ingredients prepackaged in the aisles of the store.
We’ll even help you discover what hulled millet is. We hope you enjoy!
